*How to make Atwemo*

*Ingredients:*🍱

▪6 heaped table spoons of plain/all purpose flour
▪3 Table spoon of butter/ margarine
▪1 large onion
▪2 cloves of garlic
▪1 teaspoon of salt
▪A pinch of nutmeg
▪Vegetable cooking oil for deep frying.

*Method:* 🥨

◼Pour flour into mixing bowl
◼Add salt
◼Add nutmeg
◼Add margarine
◼Rub in the margarine to get a sandy texture
◼Blend onion and garlic with cold water
◼Add the onion and garlic mixture Bit by bit (about 4 table spoon for this
recipe)
◼Bind them together to make it into a hard dough
◼Use your rolling pin to flatten the dough till about 0.5 – 1 cm thick
◼use your knife to divide the pastry into long stripes
◼now take each stripe and cut into tiny chips sizes.( the smaller the
crispier).
◼Heat the oil in pan for deep frying.
◼Allow the oil to heat up well and put the cut chips in, using your spatula to
separate them
◼stir every other minute till well done. Normally done when colour is golden.
◼Remove when done onto your seive to get rid of excess oil.
◼continue this frying process till all done
◼Allow to cool and enjoy.
◼The remaining can be put in an air tight container, or food bag.
