What is The Nigerian judicial system turning into?

The judiciary they say, is the hope of the common man, and the saviour of the common man also. But today, those welding power has stamped upon this hope, turning this saviour into their slaves. It is on this note that I will like to examine what has become or gradually becoming a norm in the Nigerian judicial system.
First,  I will like to state categorically that I am not into partisan politics and so do not write this article based on support for, or in affiliation with any political party, group or individual. The content of this write up is based on the realities surrounding our Justice system, with the purpose of educating everyone on the need to preserve the sovereignty and independence of the judiciary.
With the increase in the number of high profile corruption cases and trials going on in various courts in the country, one will rightly say the present administration is leaving no stone unturned on it's fight against corruption and corrupt practices. But one thing that  cannot be overlooked is the too obvious and glaring fact that this fight against corruption seems to be a fight against the opposition or perceived enemies of the the current administration led by Rtd. General Muhammadu Buhari. Below I shall unveil to you why that thought is not far fetched.
Among many facts, is the fact that almost all past leaders and top officials of the immediate past government of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, perceived enemies of the the present government  and members of the opposition party,  The people's Democratic Party (PDP)  are all facing one or more corruption charges,  many are in court, many are still in detention, many granted bail but the bail judgements refused to be obeyed by security agencies clearly acting on the instructions of the Federal Government with the judiciary that granted such bails doing Nothing about it,  about the federal government disobeying her rulings  and judgements. Among the names of looters recently released by the federal government through the minister of information Alhaji Lai Mohammed, no member of the ruling party,  the APC was listed, even when many of them were having corruption allegations leveled against them and nothing was heard of it again and those that decamped from the opposition to the APC have their cases dropped or struck out for lacking merit. Some members of the ruling party were indicted of foul practices, and after been probed and found wanting were only discharged of their duties after much outcries from the populace but no charges was brought against them.

Secondly, is the fact that all agencies under the federal government and the FG has on several occasions disobeyed courts rulings and judgements thereby belittling and showing contempt against the judiciary, which have today become a mockery to the independence and sovereignty of the judiciary and sending fears and distrust into the minds of every common man that has previously hoped and believed that the judiciary is the last hope for the common man. How long shall we continue to watch the arms of the judiciary twisted by the government in power and her members haunted, harrassed and victimized, and how long should we wait for justice to come early for all? What is the Nigerian judicial council (NJC)  doing about all these?

What is the Nigerian judicial system turning into?  Is it now an arm of government saddled with the responsibility of hunting opposition members or an arm of government that guarantees that justice is served efficiently and interprets the law for the Nigerian society?
